The short version
- You don't need an account, and we never ask for your name or email to browse.
- We use Google Analytics to see how the site is used. The cookie banner lets you turn it off.
- Your cookie choice stays in your own browser.
- "Find Near Me" uses your location only inside your browser. It is never sent to us.
- If you submit a coffee shop, we receive the shop details you type in, and nothing else about you.
Analytics and cookies
Most pages load Google Analytics. When you allow analytics cookies, Google may set cookies such as _ga to tell visits apart. You can choose Accept All, Reject All or Customize in the cookie banner, and we pass your choice to Google using Google Consent Mode. We don't show ads, and advertising cookies stay off unless you allow them.
Before you choose, analytics is off by default for visitors who appear to be in Europe, the UK or Switzerland (based on your browser's time zone and language, checked in your browser), and on by default elsewhere.
Your choice is saved in your browser's local storage as cookie_consent. To change it, clear this site's data in your browser and the banner will appear again. See how Google uses data from sites that use its services.
Other things stored on your device
- Offline copies of the site. A service worker saves the site's own pages, scripts and styles so the site loads faster. These copies contain nothing about you.
- A Cloudflare security cookie (
__cf_bm, about 30 minutes) that helps block bots.
Submitting a coffee shop
The submit page sends the shop's name, address, phone, website, price level and description to our server. These are details about a business for the public directory, so please don't include personal information in them.
Services we use
Like every website, our servers and these providers receive your IP address and browser information when your browser connects to them. Each handles that information under its own privacy policy.
